Linklaters has made up 14 lawyers to its global partnership, with a further 21 promoted to the rank of counsel.
The bulk of promotions come in the magic circle firm’s City headquarters with eight partners made up across the banking, employment and incentives, financial regulation, corporate and technology, media and telecommunications practices.
The remainder are spread across Linklaters’ international network, with one new partner apiece in Frankfurt, Warsaw, Amsterdam, Sao Paulo, Tokyo and Hong Kong.
Practice-wise, banking gains three new partners while capital markets and corporate receive two each. The firm’s competition, real estate, restructuring and insolvency and tax teams also benefit from the new promotions.
The total number of new partners represents a drop of four on 2009, when 18 lawyers were made up.
In addition, 11 national partners have been moved from the salaried ranks into the firm’s equity.
The counsel promotions are spread across 10 practices in 12 of the firm’s offices.
Senior partner David Cheyne commented: “These promotions highlight our continued commitment to investing in our global practices in order to enhance the breadth and depth of expertise we offer our clients. I would like to congratulate our new partners and counsel on their promotion and look forward to working with them to lead the firm to further success.”
