Legal News Central was setup in January 2010 by a group of IT individuals at a leading law firm to help with centralising legal news from large news sources and websites for the solicitors they supported.
It was often noted that between them they would use multiple websites, whether they were legal journals, global news providers, or simple Google searches. Bringing all of this information together, and filtering out the news that wasn’t required, helped narrow down the news that they actually wanted and allow them quickly continue with earning fees.
Another step to provide RSS feeds was decided, bringing the already centralised information, directly to their mail application or desktop RSS reader. With RSS feeds available directly to mobile devices such as BlackBerry, iPhone, and smartphones, the information is never out of reach.
A huge surge of visitors throughout the first few months of launch, regular subscribers from the world’s biggest law firms, and advertising requests, have all shown that Legal News Central is becoming a valued source of information for solicitors, lawyers, legal professionals and institutions around the world.
